Bio:

With a passion for dance music since his clubbing days from the early 2000's, Andy is now on the other side of the DJ decks sharing his passion for scene, bringing his brand of upfront and uplifting vibes to the dancefloor across various genres, from house, nu-disco and tech house to progressive EDM, trance and techno.

The Journey:

My DJ journey began back in July 2004, primarily as a warm up DJ spinning vinyl at the small DJ events in bars I was organising locally in Leamington Spa, gaining valuable experience playing alongside the best up and coming DJ's and to different crowds at different venues. This eventually led to DJing in the main room of both of the main clubs in Leamington Spa, warming up for the Miss Moneypenny's bar tour when it came to town, and a Saturday night residency in a Warwick bar, as well playing at specialist nights in Birmingham and Stratford Upon Avon.

February 2008 saw the first of my weekly 'Resident Grooves' DJ mix podcasts debut on a European internet radio station, and was broadcast every Wednesday for a couple of years, with select mixes also appearing on US internet radio!

But around 2011 life got in the way and I took a break for a while.

However in 2022, I rediscovered the joy and passion of the scene I love again, and was inspired to get behind the decks once more.

Inspiration:

Inspired by the club nights I used to go to, like Godskitchen, Hed Kandi, Polysexual, Sundissential and more, my sound ranges from deep, vocal, tech house music, infused with funk, soul, disco, latin and Ibiza vibes, through to progressive and melodic trance & techno.

For me, it's all about the flow and vibe on the dancefloor. I like to craft a set that over the course of the night ramps up the energy, keeping it upfront and uplifting, and hopefully bringing a unique vibe to keep the dancefloor moving.

From my early beginnings spinning vinyl and then progressing to playing CD's, I now DJ exclusively digitally, and play a mix of the new as well as the familiar with sometimes unfamiliar remixes to keep things fresh and exciting, plus of course, dropping a few classic tracks here and there, rather than just playing what everybody else plays, after all, where's the fun in that!

My Mixes:

I upload a brand new 'Residentclubber Sessions' DJ mix every Saturday at 8pm UK on Mixcloud, Soundcloud and Youtube, alternating between house, nu-disco and tech house (generally what to expect when I play out live) one week and progressive EDM and trance/techno the next, which appear regularly in Mixcloud's various Global Top 100 DJ genre charts each week.
